Study Objective
The project aims to supervise more than one contracting company involved in the project, monitor and control work quality, and rehabilitate roads after underground infrastructure works by evaluating the supplied and used materials, including backfilling with soil, concrete, and asphalt materials. Tests are conducted on concrete and asphalt materials to assess the quality of the works.
Project Implementation Methodology
- Receiving work orders from the owning authority (Jeddah Municipality) through the electronic excavation permit system.
- Coordinating with the contractor before work begins to inspect and verify materials.
- Conducting tests (preliminary and laboratory tests) on the materials used in the project to determine their suitability and quality.
- Closing work orders after ensuring the works comply with the specifications of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Jeddah Municipality. |
6 | Required Tests | - On-site concrete testing (quality control and monitoring, slump test, and temperature measurement).
- RC2 prime coat (liquid asphalt) spray testing.
- Bitumen extraction tests to determine the bitumen content.
- Field density tests (sand cone method, nuclear method).
- Compaction ratio tests.
- Subgrade material tests (CBR test, site gradation tests).
